Innovative mesh solutions for the automotive future

GKD presents an extensive portfolio of technical weaves for modern conventional and electric mobility at the Automotive Supplier Summit (IZB). The technical weaves increase efficiency in all drive solutions and play a significant role in a wide range of application areas.

GKD high-performance mesh proves its solution potential millions of times over every day – including in many applications for the automotive industry. This time, the GKD booth in Wolfsburg focuses on solutions for electric drives, including explosion protection in switch housings and battery systems, thermal management, and passenger protection. All of the meshes used combine the advantages of being shapeable, media-resistant, and conductive.

For conventional drives and exhaust gas systems, tailor-made GKD filter media ensure greater efficiency, also lower emissions, and deliver the best results in terms of filtration and throughput for their respective purposes. GKD mesh is also found in a wide range of components in this segment, including fuel injection systems, valve trains, transmission fluid filters, oil suction filters, and in exhaust gas recirculation and filtration.

Along with the different drive types, GKD’s wide range of products also cater to suppliers of chassis and braking systems for pneumatic suspensions, hydraulic systems, and brake systems. For vehicle bodywork and interiors, the German solution specialist provides mesh for airbags, air-conditioning systems, and in-car entertainment.

For decades, the GKD name has stood for high-quality mesh for a rich variety of application processes. Seamless quality control of filtration mesh is guaranteed by in-line surface inspection, as possible weaving errors and foreign particles are identified directly in the production process and ejected automatically. A high-resolution camera monitors whether the required aperture is being produced and ensures distortion-free measuring accuracy.
