GKD – GEBR. KUFFERATH AG is expanding its range of PC mesh with four new rigid meshes made of aluminum. With previously unseen openness and warm metallic shades, the meshes provide designers with new possibilities for use and respond to current requirements from architects.

PC-ALU 6020-62, with an open area of 62 percent at a weight of just 1.5 kilograms per square meter, is a significantly more open variant of the best-selling GKD products PC-ALU 6010 and PC-ALU 6020. This new mesh type is therefore especially well suited for ceiling design, as it allows sprinklers or smoke detectors to be hidden from view without impairing their function. Yet this rigid mesh also opens up attractive design possibilities where the statics of a façade don’t allow for heavy claddings made of metal mesh. PC-Orion ALU and PC-Tucana ALU are adaptations of the best-selling products of the same name made of stainless steel. Their significantly greater free area by comparison is reflected in their weight. With an open area of 64 percent (PC-Orion ALU) and 72 percent (PC-Tucana ALU), these meshes set new standards for light transmission and transparency. Their weight of just 1.7 kilograms per square meter makes them only slightly heavier than the new PC-ALU 6020-62. PC-Atlantic ALU is the light aluminum version of the classic stainless steel mesh from the GKD range for ceiling design. The flatness of its weft wires creates refined reflections in conjunction with targeted lighting. With a free area of 43 percent, this mesh type also impresses with its weight of just 1.9 kilograms per square meter.

GKD offers the new PC mesh in widths of up to 1.45 meters and lengths of six meters. New to the range are the warm metallic shades: Anodized in gold, copper, bronze, and GKD grey – a sophisticated metallic anthracite – they retain the visible structure and shine of the metal. The new GKD-specific copper tones are also available in three shades – light, medium, and dark.
