New metal mesh: GKD at ARCHITECT@WORK

Kindly note that we are a certified essential service during the COVID-19 lockdown, please view our certificate for more information.

GKD – GEBR. KUFFERATH AG will present four new aluminum meshes at ARCHITECT@WORK on September 9 and 10 in Copenhagen. The unparalleled openness of the meshes saves on weight and costs, tapping new potential for use. GKD will also unveil the new warm metallic colors to a broad specialist audience for the first time.

The new aluminum meshes are GKD’s response to architects’ current requirements: as a light mesh, PC-ALU 6020-62 – the more open version of the hit GKD products PC-ALU 6010 and PC-ALU 6020 – is predestined for ceiling design and façades where the static calculation doesn’t permit heavy claddings. PC-Orion ALU and PC-Tucana ALU are aluminum versions of the stainless steel mesh of the same name. The free area of this mesh – 64 percent for PC-Orion ALU and 72 percent for PC-Tucana ALU – sets new standards in terms of light transmission and transparency. As a light version of the PC-Atlantic stainless steel mesh, PC-Atlantic ALU creates spectacular reflections through the flatness of its weft wires in conjunction with targeted lighting. The new meshes are available in widths of up to 1.45 meters and lengths of six meters. The new anodized colors in warm metallic shades are right on trend: GKD-copper shades in light, medium, and dark; and GKD-gray – a sophisticated metallic anthracite. These dip-anodized PC meshes retain the shine and visible structure of the metal, which lends them their high-grade appearance. At ARCHITECT@WORK in Copenhagen, the experts from GKD will be available to answer application-specific questions and discuss the possible uses of the new aluminum meshes for two days.
